1. How do I subscribe to LegalBestPractice.com (LBP)?
You can join the LBP online, simply complete the registration details and submit.

2. Can I talk to a real person?
Yes, our staff will be happy to answer any queries. Or, if you prefer, you can email using the "contact us" tab or call on +64 9 520 5360 during business (9am - 6pm NZ time) hours.

3. Can I use the service if I am not a subscriber?
Some legalbestpractice.com services are available to non-subscribers. Please contact us for any matter relating to practice management.

4. Is 1AB George Street, Newmarket the only LBP premises?
Yes, but we have affiliates overseas. Please direct any enquiry in the first instance to LBP.

5. Does LBP publish its subscription list?
No, LBP seeks to protect the privacy of its members by not publishing subscriber details.

6. Can I get free advice?
Yes, contact us with your enquiry and we will try to help. All preliminary contacts are gratis. LBP will advise if a service carries a charge. E.g. If enquiries indicate that a visit or consultation is desirable this will be charged for at a rate to be agreed.

7. Can I subscribe on-line?
Yes, you may only subscribe on-line

8. How long does my subscription last?
One year from the date of registration.

9. Can I benchmark my performance more than once?
For best results it is recommended that you complete the questionnaire at least twice during the year or 3 or 4 times at even intervals. Your original results will be retained to allow for annual comparison with your original performance AND with the latest benchmark norms.

10. How do I pay my account?
When you have registered with LegalBestPractice Benchmarking you will be sent an invoice by Thomson/Brookers. A copy of this invoice will also be sent to LegalBestPractice who will activate your account, enabling you to open the questionnaire and commence.

11. What gains/improvements is it reasonable to expect after one year?
This is the $64,000 question. Without knowing your current performance, size of practice etc., it is difficult to speculate on any gains. However, those who have used the service have in some cases experienced significant improvements in profit available for distribution. It is not uncommon for a small firm (say 2-3 partners and a total complement of 8-10) to experience gains greater than the annual cost of one member of staff.

13. Are there any special conditions of use?
Yes, the service is confidential and one of the conditions of subscription is that the report and any data received by a subscriber are confidential to them. No subscriber may copy or store in a retrieval system any information, report or data supplied to them by LBP. See 'Privacy Policy' on Registration Page for full details.

14. How can I search the whole site?
The navigation tabs at the top of each page lets users work through the site.

15. Is the site aimed at a particular sector of the profession?
No, firms of all sizes are encouraged to participate. Care has been taken to ensure all sectors are properly served including large metropolitan practices and sole principals.
